Defence Minister Rajnath Singh criticized the Congress party on Thursday, stating that as there is “no provision for it” in the Constitution, the party is “fooling” people with the pledge of reservation based on religion.
He addressed two public gatherings in the Bihar constituencies of Saran and Supaul.
Addressing a public gathering in Saran, Rajnath Singh stated, “I want to ask the parties promising religion-based reservation, why are you fooling people? I want to ask Congress and the RJD party that if you have courage then do not do politics by throwing dust in the eyes of the public, do politics by looking the people in their eyes.”
In what seemed like a dig at the Rashtriya Janata Dal’s election symbol, he encouraged everyone, especially the younger voters, to pledge that they would not allow the revival of the ‘Lalten Yug’ in Bihar.
“People who are accused of corruption are going to the public and requesting votes. Sometimes they bring the ‘Charwaha Yug’, sometimes ‘Lalten Yug’. Only people of Bihar can bring the change by voting for NDA candidates,” he stated.
While endorsing Rajiv Pratap Rudy, a candidate from the Saran constituency, Singh asserted that Rudy’s extensive experience as a pilot would impress everyone.
He also criticized the Congress party regarding the ‘inheritance tax,’ citing a remark made by Indian Overseas Congress President Sam Pitroda.
“One of the leaders who are in foreign said that when INDI alliance government will form they will suggest implementing a tax where 55 per cent of the wealth generated by an individual will be transferred to the government after his/her death,” the Defence Minister stated.
“By implementing such rules, the INDIA alliance want to spoil the nation? Why would anyone invest or keep savings? Many renowned economists have condemned this idea,” he continued.
The Defence Minister highlighted that despite the commitments of leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, and Manmohan Singh to alleviate poverty, they were unable to achieve this goal. However, he acknowledged that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government succeeded in lifting 25 crore people out of poverty.
During his public address in Supaul, Singh stated, “Congress-RJD have lost their credibility and it will be a dream for them to win any seat in Bihar. The people who are accused of corruption are claiming to develop Bihar.”
“Whether it was Atal ji government or Modi ji government, not a single Minister indulged in corruption,” he stated.
