An attack in Delhi is being planned by Pakistan in alliance with terror groups and Khalistani organisations on 26 January. The terrorists hope to take advantage of the ongoing farmers’ protests in Delhi to create chaos on the Republic Day. Intelligence agencies, in their report, have claimed that a woman could be used to carry out the attack.

The main terrorist group holding the reins of the attack is reportedly the Al-Qaeda. Following these inputs, Delhi Police has tightened their security and begun the search for these terrorists.

A senior intelligence agency official told The Daily Guardian, “We are aware that Khalistani organisations, Pakistan-based terrorists and Al-Qaeda are planning attacks. Keeping this in mind, we have taken several steps.”

The threat level is higher this time because the terrorists have been directly told by the ISI to carry out these attacks. Seeing the large number of farmers camped at Delhi’s border, the terrorists are taking advantage of the movement and the mob to hide themselves.

On Friday, Delhi Police officials held a meeting with police officers from other states and the National Capital Region. The main objective of the meeting was to share the inputs given by the intelligence agencies and raise concerns of terrorists using the current circumstances arising out of the farmers’ protest. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Delhi Commissioner of Police which was attended by the Police Commissioners of Faridabad, Noida and Gurgaon, besides the ADGP of Meerut.

According to intelligence agencies, this attack could be carried out by a lone wolf as well. The modus operandi would be similar to the attacks that took place in Germany, France and Austria last year. All security agencies have been put on high alert.
