Microsoft’s AI Innovation Turns Mona Lisa into Rapping Sensation, Surprising Viewers with Viral Video

A viral video depicting the Mona Lisa, Leonardo da Vinci’s renowned painting, effortlessly rapping has captured the attention of social media users. If you’re wondering about the unusual sight, let us provide some clarity. This phenomenon is attributed to Microsoft’s latest AI application, VASA-1. This innovative product has the ability to animate static facial images, bringing them to life in dynamic ways.

Originally shared on Microsoft’s official website, the video has gained widespread attention on social media platforms. Here’s an X post that features Mona Lisa’s rap performance.

Since its initial sharing, the AI-generated video has gone immensely viral. To date, it has amassed over seven million views, with the viewer count continuing to rise. Additionally, the post has garnered numerous comments from individuals across various platforms.

What comments did users provide regarding this Mona Lisa video?

“The Mona Lisa clip had me rolling on the floor laughing,” shared an X user.

“Mona Lisa rapping Paparazzi is wild,” posted another user.
“Noice. Why the hell is she shouting like that,” secomd user commented.
“Presidents have been doing this for years,” third user made a joke.
“Cool demo! But very soon, people will have difficulty telling a real person from a fake one just by watching video content. This will bring a huge amount of fraud and scams on the Internet. It is now imperative to pioneer novel methods to restore and fortify trust in the age of AI,” wrote another user.
According to Microsoft’s official website, VASA is a “framework for generating lifelike talking faces of virtual characters with appealing visual affective skills”.
The flagship model VASA-1 has the capability to generate lip movements that synchronize with the audio while also capturing a “large spectrum of facial nuances and natural head motions.”

Regarding when this app will be available to the public, Microsoft wrote, “We have no plans to release an online demo, API, product, additional implementation details, or any related offerings until we are certain that the technology will be used responsibly and in accordance with proper regulations.”
