Lok Sabha poll campaign: ‘RJD gave only ‘jungle raj’ to Bihar’ says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing critique of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Tuesday, labeling corruption as the “second name” for the opposition party in Bihar. During his campaign for NDA candidate Jitan Ram Manjhi in Gaya, he attributed Bihar’s poor condition to the RJD, founded by Lalu Parsad Yadav.

PM Modi accused the RJD of avoiding discussion on their government’s accomplishments. He stated, “RJD has ruled Bihar for several years but they don’t have the guts to discuss the work done by their government.” He characterized RJD as synonymous with corruption and blamed the party for Bihar’s decline, citing instances of “jungle raj” and rampant corruption during their tenure.

Regarding the opposition alliance, PM Modi criticized their lack of vision and confidence, asserting that they seek votes based on the achievements of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar rather than their own merits.

Furthermore, PM Modi accused leaders of the INDIA bloc of disrespecting Lord Ram by boycotting the Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya, alleging that they did so to appease a specific community.

He also took aim at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin, condemning their remarks about Hindu religion and Sanatana Dharma, respectively.

PM Modi highlighted the BJP’s manifesto, termed as “Modi ki Guarantee,” focusing on development, women’s welfare, and aspirations for a developed India. The manifesto promises various benefits for citizens, including housing for the poor, free rations, healthcare for the elderly, and continued support for farmers.

The BJP aims to make India the world’s third-largest economy, establish it as a global manufacturing hub, and implement “One Nation One Election” and a single electoral roll.

As Bihar gears up for polling across seven phases, the PM recalled the NDA’s victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, securing 39 out of 40 seats. In contrast, the Mahagathbandhan, led by RJD, INC, and RLSP, only managed to secure one seat.

With Lok Sabha polls scheduled from April 19 to June 1, the political landscape in Bihar is set for a fervent contest.
