The BJP’s 12th list of seven candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, featuring contenders across Maharashtra, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. Among them is Abhijit Das (Bobby), set to challenge Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee in West Bengal’s Diamond Harbour, a TMC stronghold. In 2019, Banerjee secured victory with a substantial margin over the BJP’s Nilanjan Roy.

Notably, Chhatrapati Udayanraje Bhonsle will contest from Maharashtra’s Satara, while Manjeet Singh Miawind, Anita Som Parkash, and Parampal Kaur Sidhu are nominated in Punjab. Uttar Pradesh sees Vishwadeep Singh and Shashank Mani Tripathi as candidates for Firozabad and Deoria, respectively.

The BJP also announced nominees for Assembly by-elections in Uttar Pradesh and Telangana, including Arvind Singh, OP Shrivastava, Shailendra Singh Sahu, Shravan Gond, and TN Vamsha Tilak.

West Bengal’s parliamentary polls will span several dates, beginning April 19, with the final phase on June 1. In 2014, the TMC dominated with 34 seats, whereas the BJP secured only 2. However, the 2019 elections saw the BJP’s surge, claiming 18 seats against the TMC’s 22.

Maharashtra’s elections unfold over five phases from April 19 to May 20, while Punjab’s single-phase voting for 13 seats is scheduled for June 1. Vote counting is set for June 4.
