Jonathan Bailey to lead new ‘Jurassic World’ movie?

Jonathan Bailey, best known for his role in ‘Wicked,’ is reportedly in negotiations to join the cast of Universal’s upcoming Jurassic World movie, as per The Hollywood Reporter.

The film, which has already cast Scarlett Johansson, will be directed by Gareth Edwards and written by David Koepp, known for his work on Jurassic Park. Johansson, famous for her portrayal of Black Widow in Marvel Studios’ films, has effortlessly transitioned to various projects and has been recognized with two Oscar nominations for Marriage Story and Jojo Rabbit.

Amblin Entertainment is collaborating with Universal on the new Jurassic World movie, continuing the universe created by Michael Crichton and first brought to the big screen by Steven Spielberg in 1993’s Jurassic Park. The subsequent films, The Lost World (1997) and Jurassic Park III (2001), were directed by Spielberg and Joe Johnston, respectively.

Colin Trevorrow revitalized the franchise with Jurassic World in 2015, starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. The film introduced a new concept where a dinosaur park was open to the public. Pratt and Howard reprised their roles in Dominion (2022), which reunited stars from Jurassic Park and Jurassic World, aiming to introduce new characters.

Bailey, who portrays prince Fiyero in ‘Wicked,’ recently appeared at CinemaCon during Universal’s presentation. He is also known for his role in the Showtime limited series Fellow Travelers, which earned him a Critics Choice Award. Bailey is represented by CAA, Anonymous Content, and Hansen Jacobson, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
