The incident occurred while the boy was playing in the agricultural field on Friday evening. Upon receiving the information, the rescue team arrived at the scene and initiated efforts to rescue him.

CM Yadav took to X to express his concern, stating, “News about a child falling into a borewell in Manika village of Rewa district is sad. A team of SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) and district administration is trying to get the child out safely. I am also in constant touch with the local administration. Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla has been instructed to reach the spot. We will leave no stone unturned to bring out the innocent child safely.”

Speaking to ANI, CM Yadav expressed sadness over the incident and expressed hope that the administration would save the child with all its efforts. He said, “A child fell into a borewell while playing in Manika village in Rewa district and it is very sad. We have deployed a team there for rescue but due to rain and mudslides, the operation is facing a lot of difficulty. I am hoping that the administration will save the child with all its might. We will do whatever is necessary in this regard.”

CM Yadav also emphasized the need to prevent such incidents in the future, stating, “Our MLA Siddharth Tiwari is at the spot. I have talked to the collector, SP and the rescue team is engaged in the operation. I hope we succeed in it. It is a very sad incident. I have already given instructions in the past and I am giving again that any such borewell in any area should be closed immediately and such incidents should not happen in future.”

Meanwhile, Rewa Collector Pratibha Pal has provided details of the rescue operation, stating that the borewell’s depth is around 70 feet and the child is believed to be stuck at a depth of 45-50 feet. The NDRF team is digging a horizontal tunnel to reach the child.
