Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been remanded to judicial custody until April 15 after appearing before Special Judge Kaveri Baweja at Rouse Avenue Court on Monday. Kejriwal’s appearance followed the conclusion of his remand period in the Delhi Excise policy money laundering case.

While entering the court complex, Kejriwal criticized PM Modi, stating, “Pradhan Mantri jo kar rahe hain woh desh ke liye achha nahi hai (What the PM is doing is not right for the country),” speaking to reporters.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) brought Kejriwal to the court under tight security. The ED sought direction to send him to judicial custody, stating that further custodial interrogation is not required at the moment. Additional Solicitor General SV Raju represented the ED.

During the proceedings, Kejriwal’s lawyers requested permission for him to carry prescribed medicine and several books, including the Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana, and ‘How Prime Ministers decide’ by Neerja Chaudhary, during his judicial custody in Tihar Jail.

Earlier, Arvind Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita Kejriwal, along with Delhi Ministers Saurabh Bharadwaj and Atishi, were present at the Rouse Avenue court before his appearance. Kejriwal’s arrest by the ED is related to his alleged involvement in a money laundering case linked to the Delhi Excise Policy.

On Sunday, Sunita Kejriwal addressed the INDIA bloc rally, sharing a message from her husband. She defended Kejriwal’s integrity and patriotism, challenging BJP’s calls for his resignation due to his custody status.
