International drug supplier gang arrested in Chandigarh

The Chandigarh ANTF arrested three international drug suppliers, including a woman and the son of a retired sub-inspector from Punjab Police. The police recovered one and a half kilos of heroin, Rs 4.5 lakh cash, and stolen vehicles from the arrested accused. The accused have been identified as Vikramjit Singh from Moga, Punjab, Lovepreet Singh from Firozpur, and Avneet from Mohali Sector-91.

The police registered a case against the accused under sections of the NDPS Act in Sector-11, UT Chandigarh. Vikramjeet Singh is in 5 days police custody, Lovepreet is in 7 days police custody, and the police hope to arrest more members of this cross-border drug syndicate.

Based on the disclosure of accused Vikramjit Singh, drug supplier Lovepreet Singh was arrested from Ludhiana. DSP Crime Udaypal Singh and SHO/Inspector Satwinder provided information that a team from Police Station-ANTF arrested the three suppliers. 1.5 kg of heroin, cash, and vehicles were recovered from their possession.

The police party led by SI Sumer Singh received secret information that Vikramjeet alias Vicky and Avneet were smuggling/supplying narcotic drugs in Chandigarh and the Tricity. The team caught both of them, and during the search, 1.012 kg of heroin was recovered from the dashboard of the car.

Police sought remand of Vikramjit Singh and Avneet for 5 days and 2 days, respectively, from the court. Lovepreet Singh, a member of the International Drug Syndicate, was arrested from Ludhiana. He is in contact with Indian and foreign nationals engaged in cross-border drug smuggling into India.

Accused Vikramjit Singh, who owns a music company in Mohali, came in contact with Lovepreet Singh during his music recording business and started dealing in drugs. Lovepreet, a graduate and son of a retired Punjab Police sub-inspector, has been involved in drug trafficking for the last 4 years and was previously arrested in a narcotics case. Avneet, born in Chandigarh, is a college dropout and drug addict who used to accompany Vikramjit Singh to Chandigarh to collect drugs and check their quality.
