Union Minister Giriraj Singh criticized Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, suggesting that Kejriwal had “lost all morality” and should “learn” from former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who resigned before being arrested by the Enforcement Directorate.

Singh told ANI, “Morality is also a thing. Kejriwal has lost all morality. Under the garb of morality, he had agitated with Anna Hazare. And he is saying that the law does not prohibit him from running a government behind bars.”

Singh expressed concern that Kejriwal is still running the government after being arrested on charges of corruption in a Delhi excise policy case. He remarked, “What had our Baba Saheb Ambedkar thought that such immoral people would become the Chief Minister? Those who will be behind bars.”

Taking a dig at the ruling Aam Admi Party, Singh said, “Those who called themselves ‘Kattar Imaandar’ have come out to be known as Kattar Beman.”

He suggested that Kejriwal should learn from Hemant Soren and make his wife the Chief Minister if needed, referring to Soren’s resignation before being arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in an alleged money-laundering probe related to a land scam.

The arrest of Kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate came after the Delhi High Court rejected his petition seeking to restrain the central probe agency from taking any coercive action against him in the excise policy case. Kejriwal’s arrest has led to reactions from various political quarters, with several Opposition leaders supporting him and accusing the BJP and the Centre of arm-twisting the opposition.
