MLA launches Rs 65 cr projects in line with Mann’s vision

In cognisance of the commitment of the Bhagwant Singh Maan Government, MLA Mohali Kulwant Singh laid the foundation stones of projects worth Rs 65 crore in Mohali city on Thursday.

In these projects, the construction of 05 roundabouts (rotaries) on various cross junctions on 150 feet wide road from Sector junction 76-77-88- 89 to junction 80-81-84-85, S.A.S. Nagar, Mohali at the cost of about 15 Crore, will facilitate a smoother flow of high-intensity traffic, enhance pedestrians safety and ultimately contribute to the reduction of road accidents.

Apart from this, the construction of two bridges from Plaksha University to the upstream side of village Chau Majra and in between from IT City to the International Airport road will cost around Rs 25 crore. These bridges will further help to develop the 120-acre stretch of sector 101-A and provide an approach road to reserved industrial plots and the EWS site.
Besides, widening and upgrading of the 3.2 km road stretch from Sector Junction 61-62 to 69-70 Kumbhra Chowk to Sector Junction 65-66 Bawa White House was also set in motion by the MLA Kulwant Singh. The estimated budget for the widening and upgrading is Rs 25 crore.

After laying the foundation stones of the key projects for the holistic development of Mohali city, MLA Mohali Kulwant Singh said, “What was said by the Aam Aadmi Party government led by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and the promises and guarantees that were given to the people have been almost fulfilled.” He said that continuous efforts are being made for the development of Punjab and vacant posts are being filled in various departments by Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann.

He said that in addition to these five roundabouts/rotaries in the city, the construction of seven more roundabouts/rotaries will also be started soon. He said that roundabouts/rotaries will add to the beauty of the city and will be helpful to ease out the traffic problems by making smooth and uninterrupted flow.
