Praising women and applauding the determination and perseverance of the nation’s ‘Nari Shakti’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Monday that the ‘Drone Didis’ and ‘Lakhpati Didis’ are paving the way for new achievements. PM Modi distributed 1000 drones to 1,000 Namo Drone Didis across 10 locations in the country and provided bank loans to Self Help Groups (SHGs) as part of the Sashakt Nari-Viksit Bharat program at an event held at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in the capital city.

During the event, Prime Minister Modi described the occasion as ‘historic’, expressing confidence and conviction about the country’s direction based on the inspiring success stories of women entrepreneurs from various corners of the nation. He emphasized the connection between the rise of ‘Nari Shakti’ and the nation’s economic advancement, highlighting the influence of self-help groups on societal progress.

He noted that these groups have played a substantial role in enhancing rural infrastructure and improving the overall welfare of people in rural areas. Prime Minister Modi also recognized the contributions and services provided by Bank Sakhi, Krishi Sakhi, Pashu Sakhi, and Matasya Sakhi.

“Our Didis are giving new impetus to the country’s national campaigns, from health to Digital India. More than 50 per cent of those running the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan are women and more than 50 per cent of the beneficiaries are also women. These incredible success stories have only served to strengthen my faith in ‘Nari Shakti’,” he summed up.
