At present there are 4000 play way schools in Haryana. Among the 22 districts of the state, the maximum number of play-way schools are in Ambala, Kurukshetra and Yamunanagar districts. Kurukshetra district has the maximum number of 377 play way schools. After this, there are 343 schools in Yamunanagar, 291 in Karnal and 253 in Ambala. Apart from these, 173 in Bhiwani, 124 in Charkhi Dadri, 117 in Faridabad, 234 in Fatehabad, 104 in Gurugram, 219 in Hisar, 100 in Jhajjar, 240 in Jind, 84 in Nuhan, 142 in Mahendragarh, 122 in Palwal, 47 in Panchkula, There are 165 play way schools in Panipat, 165 in Rewari, 100 in Rohtak, 198 in Sirsa and 220 in Sonipat.
Of these, a maximum of 411 schools will be opened in Sirsa district. After this, 334 play way schools will be opened in Hisar and 246 in Yamunanagar. It is noteworthy that Anganwadi centers have now been developed on the lines of private play-way schools. Now, under the new education policy , children up to five years of age will be able to directly enroll in the first class after getting educated in government Anganwadi which is developed as a play-way school. Nursery and pre-nursery work has now been completed in centers converted from Anganwadi centers to play schools. In this regard, the Women and Child Development Department has also given training to CDPOs, supervisors and Anganwadi workers in all 22 districts of the state.
