The Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), an ally in the power with the main ruling and saffron Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) has been witnessing infighting for a long time and with facing the debacle in adjoining Rajasthan, the JJP suffered a setback as the party was having high hopes from the assembly polls in the state. Amid the talks ‘’that the position of JJP has weakened politically for some time in Haryana’’ are continuously leading to speculations pertaining to the future of the prevailing alliance between the BJP and the JJP. Political experts are of the opinion that JJP has to struggle on many fronts both in the House as well outside the House. In this sequence, in the budget session on Thursday, there was a fierce debate inside the Haryana Assembly between JJP heavyweight Dushyant Chautala who holds the portfolio Dushyan and party MLA Ramkumar Gautam.
Ramkumar Gautam, while talking about the prolonged pending development works in Khedi Chowpata of his constituency Narnaund and pointing towards Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala in the assembly, said since he has a dozen departments, the people have high hopes and expectations from him . Thus, the way Dushyant Chautala and Gautam debated in the assembly elections before the Lok Sabha elections, it indicated that the hope of mutual agreement and filling the gap between the two came to an end. Gautam repeatedly said that he extended support to Dushyant Chautala’s family again and again but he failed to live up to the expectations. Gautam said, I helped his father Ajay Chautala and after that he also fought for the election of Digvijay Chautala. Further, while coming face to face with Dushyant Chautala, he said that I campaigned for Dushyat five days in his election campaign.
But despite this he did not live up to the expectations. In response to this, the Deputy CM said that for the last four years I have been listening to Gautam saying that he will resign, then why don’t you resign and don’t take too much time for the same. Giving a sharp reaction to this, Gautam said ‘’why should I resign and you should resign. First you resign and then I resign. If they still don’t agree then both give together’’.
Amid the ongoing verbal spat between Gautam and the Deputy CM, Dushyant got the support of two MLAs Devendra Babli and Anup Dhanak who have been given berths in the state cabinet. While speaking in the House, Gautam said that there are inconsistencies in e-tendering in the Panchayat Department and while reacting to this, Panchayat Minister Devendra Babli said that I have complete control over my department and urging to Guatam said that being an elderly person, I respect you but don’t cross the limits.
Meanwhile, Minister of State Anoop Dhanak from his support party quota took on Gautam along with the MLA Naina Chautala, mother of Deputy CM. All are pretty familiar with the fact that the dissatisfaction of JJP MLAs has been visible from time to time. From the beginning, Gautam has been strongly opposing Dushyant for not being made a minister. At the same time, before and after becoming a minister, Devendra Babli has been cornering his own party and Deputy CM many times. Apart from this, Narwana MLA Ram Niwas Suraj Khera has cornered his own party and Dushyant Chautala, citing lack of development works in the constituency.
