Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, on Thursday, referred to the Bhajan Lal government as insensitive, saying that there is no concern for unemployed youth by Rajiv Gandhi’s youth friends.
Unemployed youth have been protesting in Jaipur for a month, but no leader or minister from the government has met them. Lalasot’s youth, Rajkumar Gupta, entered into depression after being unemployed, deteriorating his health.
Ultimately, this depression took his life. The government has no empathy towards him. They should have at least sent a minister to his house. This indicates that the BJP government is working with the intention of revenge. The government should not do this.
Kirodi Lal made a mistake: Gehlot
Several senior leaders of the Congress, including Ashok Gehlot, reached Dausa to express condolences on the death of Rajiv Gandhi’s youth friend Rajkumar Gupta in Lalasot. Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and opposition leader Tikaram Jully stayed in Khadi Bagh.
Speaking to the media, Gehlot targeted the state government regarding the protest of Rajiv Gandhi’s youth friends. He said, “Minister Kirodi Lal Meena is a master of protests. Rajiv Gandhi’s youth friends were protesting outside his bungalow. Kirodi Lal should have welcomed the protesters. While protesting, Dr. Kirodi spent his entire life. He should have at least listened to the problems of the youth friends from outside his house. Unfortunately, this did not happen.”
Change the name of the scheme, said Gehlot
Gehlot said, “Our government had provided employment to nearly 5,000 youths in the Rajiv Gandhi Youth Friend Scheme. As soon as the government changed, the BJP removed them and made them unemployed. These youth friends were promoting government schemes and would continue to work. If the BJP had a problem with Rajiv Gandhi’s name, they could have changed the name of the scheme to PM Modi’s name, but they should not have taken away the employment of the youth.”
Gehlot also commented on the farmer’s agitation and the Kanhaiya Lal incident in Udaipur. During this time, along with Gehlot and Tikaram Jhuli, many Congress leaders, including Murari Lal Meena, MLA from Dausa, Adarsh Nagar MLA Rafiq Khan, Gangapur City MLA Ramkesh Meena, Bassi MLA Laxman Meena, former minister Prasadi Lal Meena, Mamata Bhupesh, G.R. Khatana, Congress district president Ramjilal Odh, and Khadi committee minister Anil Sharma were present.
