BJP stalwart Rao inderjeet suffering back to back setbacks in the party

Having widespread acceptability and influence on around a dozen assembly seats in South Haryana known as ahirwal belt, BJP stalwart Rao Inderjeet emerges as one of the prominent leaders in the state politics. South Haryana has always played a significant role in the politics of Haryana as it always has helped all political factions in forming government .

Political experts opine that be it main ruling Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP)and it ally Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) or Congress, the main opposition party or Indian National Lok Dal or Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), no political faction seems in a position to neglect the importance of Ahirwal Belt which exists as the guarantee of formation of government and control of power to some extent. Rao Inderjeet is believed to be upset with the party and has been suffering setbacks few last month as several arch rivals of his have been given berth in organisational set up in the state as well in centre adding to his woes.

Disgruntled with his negligence in the Congress, he had quit the party and joined the saffron BJP ahead of parliamentary polls in 2014. Further, Rao Inderjit Singh contested elections from Gurugram Lok Sabha seat twice in a row in 2014 and 2019 on BJP ticket marking victory by huge margin and both the times, he was given a berth in the central cabinet and appointed as Minister of State in the Central Government. It is noteworthy that Rao Inderjit Singh has his own support base from Gurugram to Nangal Choudhary. But for a long time has been building pressure on the state as well as central leadership to fulfill his political ambitions and seeking a ticket for his daughter Aarti Rao to carry forward his political legacy but due to Rao’s pressure politics, BJP has been giving back to back blows to Rao Inderjit Singh to weaken hin in Ahirwal belt ahead of polls.

In this row recently the Randhir Kapdawas who was expelled from the BJP and contested independently in assembly polls in 2019 has been made to return to BJP back which is being considered a fresh blow to Rao Inderjeet ahead of parliamentary polls. Notably, BJP state president Nayab Saini visited him on Sunday at his residence.

State Chief Manohar Lal Khattar and State President Naib Saini themselves warmly welcomed Kapriwas into the party. It is worth mentioning that Randhir Kapdiwas had accused Rao Inderjeet for his expulsion from the party then. Keeping in view the role of Rao Inderjeet for his removal from the party, Randhir Kapdiwas is still believed to be upset with him and is likely to weaken Rao Inderjeet ahead of polls.

It is worth noting that following the denial of ticket from BJP, Kapriwas had contested the elections unsuccessfully then remaining on second position which resulted in dabecle of BJP candidate Sunil Musepur a close one and backed by Rao Inderjit Singh. The BJP had suspended him for a period of six years but in wake of the possibility of Lok Sabha polls being a multi cornered battle, the BJP is allowing the entry of the leaders from other parties as well as those suspended from the party.

Similarly, Rao Inderjit Singh was given the first blow by making Dr. Arvind Yadav, a close associate of Chief Minister Manohar Lal, the chairman of Harco Bank after the formation of the government. Dr. Arvind Yadav is currently the Chairman of Tourism Corporation. Earlier, Bhupendra Yadav, another bigshot in the party and believed to be in good books of the Prime Minister Narender Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, belonged to Gurugram district, was made a minister by giving him a prominent ministry in the Central Government. Likewise, another arch opponent Dr. Sudha Yadav was included in the Parliamentary Board. Now, Naib Saini, who was made the state president some time ago, has given place to most of the anti-Rao leaders in his new team.

In this, Santosh Yadav and GL Sharma, former deputy speakers of Haryana, were made state vice presidents of the party, while their another opponent, former minister Rao Narbir Singh, was also adjusted in the organization and made in-charge of Lok Sabha elections. Randhir Singh Kapriwas was the only leader left who was yet to be adjusted. Its script was written by Naib Saini, who visited Rewari for the first time after becoming the state president, on the same day when he reached Kapriwas’s house at midnight to meet him.
