Supreme Court Collegium Recommended Appointment Of 7 Additional Judges As Permanent Judges In Calcutta, Punjab and Haryana, Kerala And Jharkhand High Court

The Supreme Court collegium has recommended the appointment of 7 additional judges as permanent judges in the Calcutta, Punjab Haryana, Kerala and Jharkhand High Courts.
The name of the judges of Calcutta High Court:

Justice Ananya Bandyopadhyay,

Justice Rai Chattopadhyay,

Justice Shampa Dutt (Paul), and

Justice Raja Basu Chowdhury

The Supreme Court collegium had recommended their names on January 18, 2024.
The Law Ministry has notified the elevation of 7 additional judges as permanent judges in the Calcutta, Punjab Haryana, Kerala, and Jharkhand High Courts.
The Central Government also notified the appointment of Justice Subhendu Srivastava as an additional judge for a fresh term of 1 year.

The name of the judge of Calcutta High Court:

Justice Lapita Banerji

Justice Banerji (PHC: Calcutta), who was being transferred to Punjab and Haryana High Court, last year, was recommended for appointment as a permanent judge of the Punjab & Haryana High Court against a vacancy of permanent judge at the Calcutta High Court.

The name of the judge of Kerala High Court:

Justice Shoba Annamma Eapen

The Supreme Court collegium had recommended her name on January 18.

The name of the judge of Jharkhand High Court:

Justice Pradeep Kumar Srivastava

The Supreme Court collegium had recommended the name of him on January 18.
