PM Modi requests MPs to not create ruckus ahead of the budget session

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday while giving an address outside the parliament before the budget session advised his fellow legislators, saying that MPs who have a habit of disrupting parliamentary proceedings should self-analyze.

“…I will definitely say this… those MPs who have formed a habit of creating a ruckus, who habitually tear apart democratic values, when they are meeting today in the last session, they will definitely introspect,” PM Modi said, adding, that no one remembers those who created a ruckus. He further requested the members to ensure that there is decorum in the house to perform their best and provide the best ideas for the house.

He also claimed the beginning of the budget session as a “festival of women power” before saying that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the interim budget 2024-25 with encouraging words and expressed hope that his government would present the full budget after returning to power.

PM Modi also said that at the beginning of the budget session President Droupadi Murmu will address the joint sitting of both Houses and on Thursday, Sitharaman will present the interim budget. “In a way, this is a festival of women power,” Modi said.

“When election time is near, the full budget is generally not kept. Following the same tradition, we will also present the full budget before you after the formation of the government. This time, the country’s finance minister Nirmala ji is going to present her budget in front of all of us tomorrow with some guiding words.”

Modi concluded his remarks with the greeting of “Ram-Ram”.
