Delhi police bolsters Republic day security with CCTV, QRTs, and enhanced measures

For Republic day, Delhi Police has intensified security efforts with 14,000 personnel and numerous officers assigned to fortify Kartavya Path and central Delhi. Each individual has a dedicated role, coupled with constant CCTV monitoring and coordination with central agencies, ensuring a seamless celebration. SWAT, PCR, traffic, and anti-sabotage teams actively contribute to a strong security presence.

Speaking with the media, the Special CP Protective Section, Dependra Pathak, said that keeping in mind the recently concluded Pran Pratistha ceremony at Ayodhya Dham, we have taken extra vigilance on this as no infringing element caused any hindrance during Republic Day. Additionally, he said that, taking into account the parliament security breach, a special check of visitors will be carried out at the entry gates. We are monitoring through CCTV cameras and working in coordination with the central agencies for real-time monitoring of any mischievous action, he added.

Madhup Tiwari, Special CP Law and Order, said, Anti-terror measures have been taken up at the busy markets of Delhi through CCTV and Manuel monitoring. The north district has been further divided into twenty-eight zones, each under a DCP and an additional DCP rank officer. He added that for the convenience of visitors at the Kartvya Path, booths for missing persons, help desks, first aid booths, etc. have been made, and the visitors are advised to mark their presence at 8 a.m. for smooth seating arrangements, added Tiwari.

HGS Dhaliwal, Special CP Traffic, said since there are traffic restrictions already in place in Delhi, the entry of commercial vehicles will be closed from 10 p.m. on January 25. We are carrying out special vehicular checks at the borders of the national capital. He also added that special vehicular checking will be carried out in the central Delhi area.

As a result, the movement of traffic will be slow, so commuters are advised to use public transport to reduce congestion on the roads.
Additionally, parking at New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway Station, Nizamuddin Railway Station, and Anand Vihar Railway Station is not allowed from 8 p.m. on January 25 to 12 p.m. on January 26. The commuters are advised to use public transport vehicles. However, the pick-up and drop-off vehicles will be available at outside railway stations for passenger use.

In keeping with the aerial threat, the police have banned the use of drones or other flying objects in central Delhi. The Delhi police have made adequate security arrangements, including flag marches in districts and patrolling along the Yamuna coast, to ensure the smooth flow of the national celebration and to inculcate patriotism in the nation. They have asked everyone to cooperate with them for this grand event.
