PM Modi offers prayer at the famous Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple at Srirangam here on Saturday.
He was welcomed by a series of crowd along his route.
It is India’s largest temple compound and one of the world’s greatest religious complexes.
The temple priest greeted the Prime Minister in a special way with slogans written on the road in Sanskrit announcing his arrival.
It was the first time that a Prime Minister was visiting the temple as no PM was visiting the temple.
PM also spent time listening to various scholars reciting verses from the Kamba Ramayanam.
