Security Alert in Ayodhya as Anti-Terrorist Squad Detains Three Suspicious Individuals Ahead of Ram Temple Ceremony

The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) nabbed three suspects in Ayodhya on Thursday, just days before the Ram Temple’s ‘Pran Pratishtha’ celebration on January 22.

According to Prashant Kumar, the Special Director General of Police (Law and Order) in Uttar Pradesh, the suspects were detained during routine checks in Ayodhya district. The ongoing interrogation aims to establish any potential connection with terrorist organizations.

“Till now, their connection with any terrorist organization has not come to light,” stated DGP Kumar, emphasizing the precautionary nature of the detentions.

The move follows increased security measures implemented by the Uttar Pradesh government ahead of the grand inauguration. Surveillance has been bolstered through the deployment of drones, night vision devices (NVDs), and CCTV cameras across the city.

Ayodhya Inspector General Praveen Kumar highlighted the incorporation of advanced technologies into the surveillance efforts, including infrared cameras and CCTV on drones. Additional Superintendent of Police, Pravin Ranjan Singh, stressed the scrutiny of buildings and houses for any unusual objects.

Preparations for the Ram Temple inauguration on January 22 are in full swing, with dignitaries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expected to attend. The Pran Pratishtha ceremony, led by priest Lakshmi Kant Dixit from Varanasi, will mark a significant moment during the Amrit Mahotsav, celebrated in Ayodhya from January 14 to January 22. Ayodhya, revered as the birthplace of Lord Rama, holds profound spiritual, historical, and cultural significance for the people of India.
