Fearing the fiasco and to ensure victory in upcoming polls to be held in Haryana this year, several political bigwigs from all factions are putting all their efforts. In the wake of political uncertainty, many stalwarts seem to be in a state of political confusion. All of the political veterans of the ruling and opposition parties are involved in strengthening themselves to prove their mettle ahead of polls and in such a situation, all the party leaders are eyeing each other’s fanatics. As the polls draw near, the challenge has arisen in front of several veterans on toes to return to power as well as to remain in power. Former Chief Minister and the Leader of Opposition Bhupender Singh Hooda who emerges among the prominent leaders in the state, is continuously facing challenges to defend and strengthen his bastion Rohtak and Sonipat parliamentary seats along with Kiloi assembly seat. In a bid to repeat history, BJP has put in all its strength to win both the seats and the party is leaving no stone unturned to create problems for Hooda as how serious and eager the BJP is about winning the elections on both the seats and defeating Hooda once in his stronghold can be gauged from the fact that the BJP has set up its state party office in Rohtak. Many big BJP stalwarts including CM Manohar Lal are continuously participating in political programs here.

Similarly, Chief Minister Manohar Lal who has emerged victorious from Karnal seat twice, is also trying to get a shot in the arm to ensure third consecutive victory from his home turf Karnal . During the last 9 years of the BJP regime under his leadership, several steps taken by the ruling faction annoyed the people which resulted in demonstrations in the Chief Minister’s Karnal seat as well. In such a situation, he faces the challenge of winning the elections from Karnal for the third time and forming the BJP government. In between, discussions about his contesting elections from Panchkula have also surfaced many times.

As compared to other stalwarts, JJP leaders and Deputy CM seems facing more challenges over several issues. Apart from the disappointment of the several party legislators and resentment among their main vote bank Jats regarding many issues, Dushyant in Uchana Assembly seat and Hisar Lok Sabha seat, is facing a tough challenge from the BJP leader and arch opponent Birendra Singh, an arch rival.
