Dense fog prevailed in the northern districts of the state on Sunday. Bikaner, Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, and Jhunjhunu were the most affected districts. Due to the fog, the temperature dropped by up to three degrees Celsius. Jaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, and Kota divisions had clear weather on Sunday.
The Director of the Jaipur Meteorological Center, Radheshyam Sharma, explained that the impact of the western disturbance in northern India has now ended. As a result, the northern air has started to move directly towards the plains states. Due to this, the possibility of cold waves during the day has started. There is a possibility of dense fog and cold waves in Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Sikar, and Jhunjhunu on January 15.
Due to the dense fog in the northern region on Sunday, visibility remained less than 200 meters. The effect of the fog was also observed in the border areas of Jaisalmer. In some areas of Alwar and Bharatpur, there was light fog on Sunday morning. In Sri Ganganagar, the fog was so dense that the roads became wet due to excessive moisture.
Due to the fog, the minimum temperature on Sunday in Pilani was recorded at 3 degrees Celsius, in Jaisalmer at 6.5 degrees, in Churu at 4.2 degrees, in Sri Ganganagar at 5.3 degrees, and in Sikar at 7 degrees Celsius. At the hill station Mount Abu, the mercury again dropped to zero degrees Celsius on Sunday. The minimum temperature here on Saturday was 2 degrees Celsius. With the drop in temperature at Mount Abu, a thin layer of snow was observed in the valleys. Along with the drop in temperature, there was also a mild cold breeze in Abu.
