The Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh joyously marked the Lohri festival with fervor, bringing together the Nigam Parivaar in their respective offices. The celebration included a ceremonial bonfire at the MCC head office in Sector 17.
Distinct events were organized to commemorate Lohri, extending warm wishes to employees, their families, and the dedicated Door-to-Door waste collectors and safaikarmacharis. Lohri festivities took place at the Community Centre in Sector 43, where waste collectors came together for a spirited celebration. Simultaneously, the Engineering wing orchestrated various programs to mark the occasion, culminating in a vibrant function at the Fire Station in Sector 17, attended by firefighters and their families.
A cultural program added to the festive atmosphere at the MCC head office in Sector 17, where employees united to celebrate the spirit of Lohri. City Mayor Anup Gupta conveyed heartfelt wishes to the officers and employees of the MCC, followed by a ceremonial bonfire and puja.Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, emphasized that these celebrations were intended to uplift the morale and confidence of all employees. To sweeten the festivities, sweets were distributed among employees and their families. Additionally, recognition was bestowed upon outstanding employees who exhibited uprightness, sincerity, dedication, and exceptional performance in their assigned duties.
