Factionalism in Haryana Congress is not showing any signs of stopping. The SRK faction (Sailja, Randeep Surjewala and Kiran Choudhary) maintained a distance in the party’s General House meeting held at Congress Bhawan on Wednesday. The trio of Kumari Selja, Randeep Surjewala and MLA Kiran Chaudhary did not attend the meeting. Apart from these, 10 MLAs including three working state presidents of their group, Shruti Choudhary, Suresh Gupta and Ramkishan Gurjar also did not attend the meeting. On the other hand, Executive State President of Hooda faction Jitendra Bhardwaj participated in the meeting.
On the orders of the high command, a strategy was prepared for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the meeting chaired by Haryana in-charge Deepak Babaria. In this, Leader of Opposition Bhupendra Singh Hooda, State President Uday Bhan and MP Deependra Hooda along with Hooda’s supporting MLAs and leaders arrived. However, invitations were given to all the MLAs, former MLAs, former MPs, former district heads along with delegates for the meeting. As expected, anti-Huda leaders did not attend the meeting. Even before this, the SRK faction had been staying away from Congress meetings but Selja supporter and Narayangarh MLA Shaili Chaudhary was present in the meeting.
Kalka MLA Pradeep Chaudhary, Assandh MLA Shameshar Singh Gogi, Sadhaura MLA Renu Bala kept distance from the meeting. Apart from the SRK faction, former Finance Minister Captain Ajay Singh Yadav also did not attend the meeting. MLAs belonging to Hooda faction Chiranjeev Rao, Dharam Singh Chhokkar, Shishpal Keharwala, Induraj Narwal, Amit Sihag, Kuldeep Vats and Neeraj Sharma also did not attend the meeting. On the other hand, Kumari Selja and her supporters are busy preparing for the Jansandesh Yatra starting from January 17. This yatra is to reach 10 Lok Sabha constituencies. SRK Group has prepared a roadmap for this. At the same time, on Selja’s statement about getting permission from the National President for the Jansandesh Yatra, Haryana in-charge Deepak Babaria said that the party is one and all the leaders are united. Any leader can organize programs to strengthen the party.
However, earlier Babaria had said that this visit was not with the approval of the party.
The Congress high command has called a meeting of Haryana Congress leaders on January 14. It is being told that brainstorming is to be done regarding the list of organizations. Haryana in-charge had submitted the list to the high command eight months ago but due to factionalism this list could not come out. Hooda faction is making every effort to release the list before the Lok Sabha elections.
