Dr KK Pathak, Finance Secretary of Revenue, emphasised the importance of considering broader social interests in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. Chairing the meeting of the CSR Committee of Rajasthan State Gas Limited (RSGL) on Monday, Dr. Pathak urged the utilization of CSR funds in a manner that aligns with greater social interests.
Dr Pathak suggested that, in addition to theme-based initiatives, works in places like Anganwadi or schools should impart cultural values. Examples include activities like establishing kitchen gardens and sending positive messages to children. He commended RSGL for efficiently utilizing its available CSR provisions and encouraged other organizations in the state to employ their CSR funds for quality work that addresses the needs of specific areas.
Addressing the utilization of CSR activities, Dr KK Pathak proposed that organizations should consider providing facilities like sheds, pews, and toilets in workers’ quarters to benefit needy workers.
He emphasised that organizations with substantial CSR budgets should undertake unique and impactful projects for public interest.
Ranveer Singh, Managing Director of RSGL, highlighted the positive impact of CSR activities conducted by Rajasthan State Gas in the previous year. These activities included improvements in the lives of specially-abled individuals in Jamdoli, with provisions such as flycatchers, washing machines, hydro accelerators, tumblers, and dryers at the Apna Ghar Ashram.
Additionally, two government schools in Kota underwent renovations, including painting, furniture, civil work, sanitary work, and electrical work. GAIL representative Hridesh Kumar also provided suggestions during the meeting.
The discussion in the meeting covered the outline of works planned by RSGL for the upcoming year. CFO Deepanshu Pareek, DM IT Gagandeep Rajoria, CS Ravi Shankar Aggarwal, and PR in-charge Rajendra Sharma participated in the CSR committee meeting.
