Monthly Sahitya Sarita organised at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh

Under the joint aegis of Brihaspati Kala Kendra and Sanskar Bharti Chandigarh, the Monthly Sahitya Sarita took place at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh. The event began by commemorating the birth anniversary of Padma Shri Late Baba Yogendra, the father of Sanskar Bharati. Prof. Saubhagya Vardhan, the guide of Sanskar Bharati, shared insights about the poetry seminar that saw the participation of renowned poets from the Tri-City.
Dr. Anish Garg, the head of the organization, conducted the program with his opening lines, “The year has changed, it is a good thing…if we had changed something, something else would have happened.” Musician Somesh Gupta initiated the event with praises of Mother Saraswati.
The poets who graced the occasion with their verses included Satyavati Acharya, Nisha Verma, Murari Lal Arora, Dr. Tripat Mehta, Rajan Sudama, Shamsheel Sodhi, Pragya Sharda, and Senior Punjabi poet Varinder Chatha, who enthralled the audience with his recitation of “Kahanun chup chup rahan laga hai, zamane nu kuch kahan laga hai.”
In the concluding remarks, stage director Dr. Anish Garg received applause for saying, “I have come from Kajal ki Kothi spotless, I have come tainted with desires in Marghat.” Senior poets Prem Vij, Balkar Singh Sidhu, Ashok Bhandari Nadir, Surjit Singh Dheer, Asha Kumari, Daisy Bedi, Manoj Singh, and Yashpal were also present at the program. Pragya Sharda presided over the event, and the organization’s guide, Saubhagya Vardan, extended thanks to all the poets and listeners who attended.
