In a significant administrative reshuffle under the Bhajan Lal government, 121 Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officers have been transferred, leading to a comprehensive change in the state’s administrative landscape. The notable transfer among the 121 officers is that of SDM Neha Chhipa, who gained attention after facing threats from BJP MLA Lalaram Bairwa.
During the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Rayla last month, Lalaram Bairwa publicly criticized and threatened SDM Neha Chhipa. The BJP MLA’s threatening statement, captured in a viral video, included warnings of potential consequences for her job.
He was seen saying, “I’m telling you again that there is a new job. I’m saying again, do not argue; otherwise, you will face trouble. Do you know who you are arguing with?”
In response to the video, Chief PCC Govind Singh Dotasra from the Congress party had launched a sharp critique against the BJP. He took to Twitter, sharing the video and stating, “See the arrogance… BJP MLA Lalaram Bairwa from Shahpura is intimidating officials as if he has received a license to threaten from the high command. Sometimes the public, sometimes the officials! Frightening and threatening is the BJP’s character. Any employee of Rajasthan does not need to fear their greedy tactics; continue to work honestly.”
Following these events, SDM Neha Chhipa has now been transferred from Banera to a location 274 kilometres away in the Dausa district.
The transfer is part of the broader administrative changes initiated by the state government.
