Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Indian Navy’s recent operation in the North Arabian Sea, describing it as a heroic and successful mission during the 58th conference of the DGPs and IGPs. He also highlighted India’s accomplishment with the Aditya L1 solar mission, citing it as a testament to the nation’s strength and the scientific capabilities of Indian researchers.
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi commended the Indian Navy for swiftly responding to a distress call from a merchant ship. The Navy, along with marine commandos, rescued 21 sailors, including 15 Indians, who were aboard the vessel, located approximately 2,000 km away from the Indian coast.
Emphasizing the courage displayed during the rescue, Modi mentioned how the rescued Indian sailors praised the bravery of the commandos and proudly chanted ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai.’
Regarding the Aditya L1 mission, the Prime Minister detailed its successful arrival at the L1 point, situated around 1.5 million kilometers from Earth. This positioning allows the spacecraft to study the Sun’s phenomena without interference from eclipses or occultations, a significant step for scientific exploration similar to India’s lunar mission.
Modi reiterated that the accomplishments of the Indian Navy and the success of the Aditya L1 mission exemplify the nation’s strength and the exceptional abilities of Indian scientists, marking significant milestones in India’s space and defense endeavors.
