Union Commerce Minister urges auto industry to set 50% export share target

The auto industry should not limit itself to achieving a 25% export share and instead aim for at least 50% export share, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Mr Piyush Goyal said at the curtain raiser event of Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024.

As an export hub, India’s contribution to the world is increasing rapidly with a share of vehicles being exported from 14% presently to about 25% of all passenger vehicles produced in India by 2030. Similarly, about 30% of Two-Wheelers produced in India are expected to be exported by 2030.

Scheduled to be held on February 1-3 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, EEPC India is anchoring the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 with support from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and, the Ministry of Heavy Industries. Various shareholder industry bodies are also supporting the initiative.
Union Minister Mr Goyal today unveiled the logo and booklet for the mega mobility show.

In his address, Mr Goyal encouraged the industry stakeholders to adopt a proactive approach to seize opportunities in the global economy. He underlined the opportunity available globally for Indian businesses.

The Minister appreciated the collaborative spirit prevalent across sectors in the country and said it could bring the best results while fostering competition. He exhorted the industry to strive for greater excellence and performance on the global stage.

Speaking at the event, EEPC India Chairman Mr Arun Kumar Garodia said that Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 is not just an event but also a celebration of innovation, collaboration, and the relentless pursuit of excellence in mobility solutions.
“Mobility is key for the Indian economy.

The mobility sector is undergoing a transformative phase globally, with a heightened focus on sustainability and technological advancements,” he said.
The Bharat Mobility Global Expo will feature an expansive exhibition, showcasing the latest advancements and breakthroughs in the mobility ecosystem from more than 600 exhibitors.

The event will facilitate strategic networking through buyer-seller meets, providing a platform for businesses to forge valuable connections and
partnerships.
