Kusum Garg, Former Head of the Department of Economics at GCG, Sec 11, Chandigarh, and her daughter Sonia Garg, have made a significant donation to the welfare of patients at the prestigious Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI). The Gargs generously donated an Eeco ambulance to PGI, aiming to facilitate the smooth and safe transportation of sick patients.

Recognizing the importance of timely patient shifting, Kusum Garg has selflessly contributed to improving patient care services. The donated Eeco ambulance will play a crucial role in ensuring prompt medical attention for patients, providing them with a safe and comfortable transport experience.

The donation was officially received by Dr. Vipin Koushal, Medical Superintendent of PGIMER, who expressed gratitude on behalf of the institute for Ms. Garg’s generous contribution. Dr. Koushal commended Garg’s compassion and community spirit, stating, “The addition of an ambulance to the hospital’s resources will undoubtedly enhance their ability to provide swift and efficient medical transportation, ultimately improving the overall patient experience.” Dr. Navneet Dhaliwal, Officer In-charge Transport, N.K. Prarthi, and other officials were also present on the occasion.

In her statement, Kusum Garg expressed, “I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the welfare of patients at PGI. It is my firm belief that every individual, regardless of their circumstances, deserves timely and efficient medical care. This humble donation of an Eeco ambulance is a small step towards fulfilling that belief and supporting the exceptional patient care provided at PGI.”
Kusum also donated Rs. 1.00 Lakh to the Mata Mansa Devi Bhandara Trust, being run at PGI Sarai, for providing food to patients and their attendants.
