MLA Gopal Sharma calls for dry day on Lord Ram’s consecration

On the occasion of Lord Ram’s consecration ceremony on January 22, BJP MLA Gopal Sharma from Civil Lines in Jaipur has called for the closure of meat and liquor shops. Additionally, he has urged Jaipur Greater and Heritage Mayor Munesh Gurjar to take necessary steps in this direction.
Sharma stated, “This day is a special occasion connected with the national unity and faith of the country. Therefore, on this occasion, in the festive atmosphere across the country, liquor and meat shops should remain closed.”
He also demanded from the government that on that day, a dry day should be observed in the state. Earlier, during a meeting at the Jaipur Heritage Municipal Corporation, MLA Gopal Sharma emphasised the need for immediate action against illegal meat shops.
He said, “Locks should be put on shops operating without a license immediately. This work should be completed within a month. The roads of Jaipur city are like the Ganges. Any encroachment and lack of cleanliness on them will not be acceptable in any way.”
He also instructed the officials not to show any bias in encroachment matters. Meanwhile, Mayor Munesh Gurjar immediately agreed to close the meat shops on January 22 and gave necessary instructions to the officials.
