Speaker Vasudev Devnani demands urgent action on water woes

Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani has taken a proactive stance in addressing the water problem in his constituency, Ajmer North Assembly. On Thursday, he issued a stern ultimatum to officials, warning them to swiftly resolve the water issue. Officials have been given a final 48-hour deadline, and in case the water supply is not restored, they have been told to make arrangements for their stay.
Devnani, who had prioritised addressing the water problem in his constituency in his pre-election manifesto, is adamant about delivering on his promise. He emphasised that water supply must be restored within 48 hours in the wards of the district, or officials should be prepared to find their own accommodation.
In addition to the water issue, Devnani discussed various concerns with Ajmer District Collector Dr. Bharati Dixit. This included issues such as road repairs under the Science Park and Elevated Road in Ajmer and the relocation of the Telangana House being constructed in Ajmer to another location.
Addressing the matter of RPSC Assistant Professor exam questions on January 7, 2024, Devnani informed that he had presented the candidates’ demands to Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
The decision in this regard would be made at the chief minister’s level.
Devnani also inspected the Legislative Assembly, emphasised efficiency
Vasudev Devnani visited the Legislative Assembly chambers, inspecting various sections, including the Assembly House, Secretariat chambers, library, galleries, and the premises. Arriving at 10 am, Devnani provided necessary directives and received updates on the ongoing work from Mahavir Prasad Sharma, the Principal Secretary of the Assembly.
Devnani made rounds to officers’ and employees’ chambers, introducing himself and gathering information on the Secretariat’s activities.
He also inspected the assembly premises, offering guidance on potential changes. The visit extended to the assembly library, where he inquired about available books, newspapers, magazines, and the facility’s usage.
