The Rajasthan Tourism Department took a significant step towards ensuring the safety of tourists, especially women, by hosting a groundbreaking online meeting. The meeting, chaired by Gayatri Rathore, Principal Secretary, Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, aimed at fostering cooperation among key stakeholders in the tourism industry.
Representatives from hotels, tour operators, and government officials collaborated to enhance responsible tourism standards in the state.
The primary focus of the meeting was to formulate a comprehensive strategy to ensure a safe environment for tourists visiting Rajasthan. Principal Secretary Gayatri Rathore shed light on the Tourism Department’s leading campaign, emphasising appropriate conduct towards travellers and ensuring the safety of women tourists.
The campaign involves workshops for individuals associated with tourism, including auto-taxi drivers, shop operators, tourist guides, elephant mahouts, and camel safari operators.
Tourism Department envisions MICE and wedding dominance
The Tourism Dept aims to establish the state as a premier destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions (MICE) and weddings in 2024. Gayatri Rathore, Principal Secretary of Tourism, Art, and Culture, Government of Rajasthan, announced this at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Executive Committee of the Association of Event Entrepreneurs (AEE) at Novotel Jaipur Convention Center in Sitapura.
Rathore administered the oath to the new office bearers, with Sameer Babel assuming the role of President, and Rajesh Jain and Amitesh Taluka as Secretaries.
Shraddha Bihani and Vikrant Jain were appointed Treasurers. The Director General of Police, Bhupendra Dak, graced the event as the Guest of Honour.
