Traffic advisory issued for New Year’s eve festivities in Delhi

As Delhi prepares for New Year’s Eve celebrations, the Delhi Traffic Police has announced comprehensive traffic arrangements to ensure smooth flow and regulation on December 31. Adequate security measures have been implemented at popular locations like Connaught Place, the Surya Hotel in New Friends Colony, and Ambience Mall, among others.

To manage the expected influx of revelers, the following traffic restrictions will be enforced from 8:00 pm onwards. Vehicles will not be allowed beyond specified points, and access to the inner, middle, and outer circles of Connaught Place will require valid passes. Designated parking areas near Gole Dak Khana, Patel Chowk, Mandi House, and other specified locations are available for those visiting Connaught Place.

Furthermore, specific access routes from South Delhi to New Delhi Railway Station have been outlined to facilitate traffic flow. Commuters are advised to use alternative routes, such as Ring Road or Delhi Gate, and to avoid specific routes in West Delhi, including Najafgarh Road and Outer Ring Road. East-to-West Delhi movement is recommended via Ring Road, Bhairon Road, Mathura Road, and other specified routes.

Special Commissioner of Police Traffic, S.S. Yadav, stated in a press conference that strict action will be taken against violations, including drunken driving, overspeeding, and reckless driving. The city will have special checkpoints and surveillance cameras to enhance safety.
