Employees working in the Horticulture Department under the banner of the Joint Action Committee demonstrated strongly outside the Sector 23 Horticulture Department. Loud slogans were raised against the contractor. The outsourced employees have not yet received their November salaries, and the DC rate arrears have not been paid since April 23. Due to this, there is anger among the employees.

The Joint Action Committee has decided that if salaries and arrears are not paid to the outsourced employees, the employees will march to the Sector 9 Secretariat. Addressing the employees, Joint Action Committee Convener Ashwani Kumar, Union General Secretary Raja Ram Pradhan Laljeet, and Chairman Kamal Kumar said that the contractors are not paying the employees’ salaries and arrears of DC rates, leading to anger among the employees. The Joint Action Committee has met the officials several times regarding salaries and arrears, but the salaries and arrears were not paid.

Ashwani Kumar mentioned that the Chandigarh administration has been notified several times that salaries should be paid to outsourced employees by the 7th of every month. Still, the salaries are not received on time. Till now, Divine Group has not given the salaries to the employees for November. The employees were addressed by Mahipal, Ashok Kumar, Kalicharan, Yunus, Chhanga Singh, Mam Raj, Ranjit Singh, and others.
