In an impressive display at the 85th Senior National and Inter State Table Tennis Championship held at Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex, Panchkula, Saugata Sarkar and Rohit Chakraborty from Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the men’s doubles category. This notable achievement marks LIC’s return to the quarterfinals after almost two decades. Competing in a thrilling match against Karnataka’s B. Rakshit and Clevananan Mathi, the LIC pair emerged victorious with a 3-1 margin. The match showcased the skill and determination of Saugata Sarkar and Rohit Chakraborty as they maneuvered through the competition. Expressing confidence in the team’s performance, LIC team coach Dipank Das stated that the players are in good form and are poised for success in the upcoming matches. Team manager Amarjeet Kumar echoed this sentiment, expressing optimism about the team’s future performances and anticipating a win in the next match.
