In a remarkable feat, Aashi Sharma, a seventh-grade student at Martyr Major Anuj Rajput Government Adarsh Sanskrit Senior Secondary School, has brought glory to Haryana by clinching two gold medals in the athletics events at the recently concluded National Games held in Lucknow.

School Principal Neelu Katyal commended Aashi Sharma’s outstanding performance, highlighting her victories in the 400-meter and 600-meter races. Aashi emerged as the sole female athlete to secure two gold medals during the entire Games.
Aashi Sharma’s sports teacher, Mr. Rajesh Kumar, praised her talent, emphasizing her dedication and exceptional abilities. He shared that Aashi’s ambition is to strive for gold at the 2028 Olympics.

Aashi Sharma’s father, Guddu Kumar, employed at DRDO, is determined to propel his children further in the field of sports. Notably, Aashi’s second daughter, studying in the ninth class at Sanskriti 20 School, is also a national athlete, having clinched gold in the 400m event in the Open National.

Upon Aashi’s triumphant return to the school with her gold medals, a warm welcome was extended by teachers and students during a prayer meeting. Principal Mrs. Neelu Katyal honored Aashi Sharma with a garland and presented her with a shining shield and awards on behalf of the school.

Yashpal Chopra and Jitendra Singh, sports coach at the school, were also present on the occasion, extending their congratulations to the accomplished athlete. Aashi Sharma’s teachers are optimistic about her and her sister Khushi Sharma bringing further glory to Haryana, drawing parallels with the success of the Phogat sisters.The school is buzzing with happiness over the achievement of these two sisters.

Mr. Rajesh Kumar disclosed that both sisters are gearing up for the upcoming National Games in Bihar next year, expressing confidence in their exemplary performances.Aashi and Khushi Sharma acknowledged the unwavering support they receive from the school administration in both academic and sports pursuits, expressing gratitude to Principal Neelu Katyal and all the teachers for their cooperation.
