Before the winter session of Haryana, there has been fierce tussle between the ruling BJP-JJP and the main opposition parties to prevail pertaining to several issues which also continued and witnessed on the first on the first day of winter assembly session making the speaker Gyan Chand Gupta to intervene repeatedly. In this series, the case of sexual exploitation of girl students by the school principal in Uchana also led to ruckus in the house. Congress legislator and the former education minister accused the Deputy Chief Minister and the JJP leader Dushyant Chautala of backing up the accused principal and responding to this, Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala said that Daily Diary Report (DDR) was filed against the accused principal in 2011 following the allegations of sexual harassments. Geeta Bhukkal left no stone unturned to back up the accused which resulted in cancellation of the DDR during the regime of the Congress party. It is pertinent to mention that 60 girl students have leveled allegations of sexual harassment against it principal. Further he said that contrary to the congress government then, the BJP-JJP led government has ensured the strict action against the accused principal, terminating his service as well as putting him behind the bars. During the post-lunch session, Geeta Bhukkal raised the matter again, seeking a probe which led to the decision to get the matter inquired by the sitting judge of the Punjab and Haryana high court. The debate in the House regarding the matter escalated so much that Geeta Bhukkal told the Deputy CM that since i belong to SC community, do not consider me weak. Dushyant Chautala said that it is not a matter of being biased towards someone or doing something wrong just because he or she belongs to a particular class. Apart from aforementioned, Congress had demanded to hold discussion on the adjournment motion on the issue of deaths due to spurious alcohol and refusing the same, speaker said that since the adjournment motion has been converted into a calling attention motion, it can not be tabled. Further he defended his decision citing 6 resembling instances of converting the adjournment motions in calling attention motions during Congress party’s rule. Expressing concern, the Congress leaders came up with strong objections and the Congress legislators walked out of the House.Following the parliament security lapse, additional security arrangements were strengthened as compared to earlier. Those entering the house had to go through 3 layer security before entering Haryana Assembly.
