BSF foils drone attempt: recovers narcotics-laden packet in Amritsar

]The Border Security Force (BSF) intercepted a suspicious drone along with a yellow-wrapped packet during patrols near the Amritsar border fence. Following the detection of the unidentified object, BSF personnel launched a thorough search operation in the vicinity, leading to the recovery of one drone and one packet suspected to contain 500 grams of heroin.
The yellow packet, sealed with adhesive tape, raised suspicions among the security forces. Notably, it also featured a rope with a hook. The quadcopter drone, identified as a DJI Mavic 3 Classic manufactured in China, was found in the fields of Nesta village in Amritsar. This incident comes on the heels of a recent joint operation by the BSF and local police, where 520 grams of heroin were intercepted from a drone sent from Pakistan. The smugglers had ingeniously concealed the narcotics within a box attached to the drone. The package, secured with black adhesive tape and fastened with an iron ring for hanging, contained both goods and the quadcopter drone. The recovered items are crucial evidence of attempts to exploit aerial routes for smuggling activities, emphasizing the need for heightened vigilance along the border to thwart such illicit operations.
