In response to the distressing absence of medical staff during nighttime emergencies at Civil Hospital Jaito, the Lok Sangharsh Hajum Kisan Union, led by President Baldev Singh (Dhalla) and Rakesh Ghocha, has submitted a demand letter to Dr. Varinder Kumar, Senior Medical Officer of the Civil Hospital. The Farmer Union is urging the appointment of a dedicated medical officer alongside student doctors to enhance emergency patient care. Expressing concern, Gurjit Singh Ajit Gill, State President of the Farmers Union, highlighted the current reliance on student doctors during night shifts. With only M.D. professionals working at the hospital for an extended period, the lack of experienced staff during emergencies has led to delays in treatment and heightened risks for patients. The union, along with city residents and social service organizations, is calling for the immediate appointment of a medical officer to work alongside student doctors, ensuring timely and efficient treatment for emergency cases.
