A ‘BUNCH’ OF ‘NOVEL’ PEOPLE WATCH SAMBAHADUR

A group of 60 members of Chandigarh’s most popular and fastest growing literary group Novel Bunch, went to watch the movie Sam Bahadur. Amongst the members were many retired defence services officers who narrated their experiences and interactions with the great Field Marshal. It was an occasion when many members had tears in their eyes after watching the movie on the silver screen. The icing on the cake was the presence of Dr Roma Uppal whose brother Col (Dr.) Vinod Jalota was part of the team that operated upon Field Marshal Manekshaw when he got shot with nine bullets. She recalled those days with tears in her eyes and she felt overwhelmed by the occasion.  A special anecdote about the Field Marshal from Mrs Ranjana Malik wife of Gen VP Malik, former Chief of the Army Staff, was also shared with everyone. Other veterans shared their experiences much to the amazement of everyone.
“I think that the movie should be made compulsory watching for all school and college students”, remarked Col Navdeep Multani.
