“You can’t win elections on social media,” says PM Modi at Viksit Bharat event

Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized opposition parties for not prioritizing public welfare and emphasized the significance of engaging with people to win their hearts, asserting that election victories cannot be achieved solely through social media. During a virtual interaction with beneficiaries of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, PM Modi stressed the need for political parties to focus on service to the people rather than pursuing political gains.

“You cannot win polls on social media; you need to go amid people. Before winning polls, you need to win people’s hearts,” remarked Prime Minister Modi. He expressed that if certain political parties had prioritized serving the people over political calculations, the country’s population wouldn’t face as many difficulties today.

The Prime Minister criticized opposition parties for making false promises before elections, stating, “Some political parties don’t understand that they cannot get anything from false promises.” He highlighted the confidence-building impact of government schemes on beneficiaries, emphasizing that the notion of begging for benefits has diminished.

PM Modi discussed the significance of the ‘Guarantee Wali Gadi’ vehicle associated with Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, noting the enthusiasm with which people in villages are welcoming it. Over 1.25 crore people have engaged with the guaranteed vehicle, showcasing the success of the initiative.

The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is a nationwide effort to achieve the saturation of government flagship schemes, ensuring the timely delivery of benefits to all targeted beneficiaries. Prime Minister Modi’s virtual interaction included thousands of beneficiaries, Union Ministers, MPs, MLAs, and local-level representatives.

The interaction also featured a conversation with a beneficiary of PM Mudra Yojana, Mukesh, who received a loan of Rs 4.5 lakh to open a shop. PM Modi congratulated him for transitioning from a job-seeker to a job-maker and encouraged the use of UPI payments for business transactions. The program highlights the government’s commitment to reaching every section of society through its welfare schemes.
