In the Alipur region of Patiala district, Punjab, farmers are facing a water crisis, leading to protests against the directive issued by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to stop water supply to Kalan.
The situation has worsened as the canal, which has been running continuously since last night, has submerged fields in the village, causing extensive damage to crops such as wheat and vegetables.
Today, the villagers gathered and discussed the matter with journalists, stating that they have approached the authorities, but officials claim that the directive to stop water supply to the canal and Khalan is an order from the Chief Minister himself.
Expressing their frustration, the villagers appealed to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann through the media, urging him to reconsider the decision. They emphasized that while they understand the importance of water conservation, stopping water supply when it is not needed is causing significant losses to their crops, and immediate action should be taken to address the situation.
