The International Gita Mahotsav will feature a grand Deepotsav, Saints’ Conference, Pilgrimage Meet, and State-level exhibition as its major highlights. Set to create memorable moments, Assam’s pavilion will play a crucial role in this festival. The main events of the festival will run from December 17th to 24th. The culmination will feature a Diwali event, scheduled for December 23rd, with the final day’s celebrations on Sunday, December 24th.
The Diwali event will be celebrated as a Deepotsav, illuminating the banks of Brahma Sarovar with a hundred thousand lamps. All social and religious organizations have been invited to partake in this celebration.
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will grace the festival as the chief guest, commencing the festival with the Gita Puja at Purushottampura Bagh near Brahma Sarovar. Also, prominent dignitaries will participate in the International Seminar organized by Kurukshetra University. Assam is a major partner in the festival, showcasing its culture, art, cuisine, and lifestyle. The Gita Mahotsav has also acquired an international dimension, having been organized in Mauritius, Canada, Australia, and London. In 2024, the festival will be held in the USA, while an invitation for organizing the Gita Mahotsav has been extended by Sri Lanka.
