As the assembly polls for Telangana have undergone a wrap on November 30 and the results are set to come on December 3, state Congress Chief Revanth Reddy sounds optimistic about the party’s grand win. In an exclusive interview with NewsX, he spelt out the strategy of the grand old party of the country during the state polls. He also says that party has a post-poll vision.
Q: Many exit poll results are confirming a comprehensive victory for the Congress. Since you are the state chief and have led the party’s mission during the election, please tell us in detail.
A: Right since the announcement of the poll date in the state, we were optimistic about a comfortable victory for the party as the people of the state were fed up with the false promises of the KCR government. People’s dreams had been shattered through the corrupt machinery of the state and against all these odds, Congress are well set to form the next government in the state.
Q: Your party is going to get around 80 seats as per many exit poll results. Anything to say on this?
A: Though I do not believe fully in the exit polls results, I have already judged people’s opinion during my poll campaigns across the state. People have realised one thing and that is: KCR is not their future. Personally, I have seen state machinery crumbling and in such a scenario, days are almost over for the incumbent KCR government.
Q: What are Congress’ vision for the development of the state and its chances in 2024 Lok Sabha polls?
A: Ours is a party that fully believes in the overall development of the state. Welfare schemes are integral part of Congress’ political and social plans and this is everything that a national party can boast of. As far as Congress’ chances in the 2024 polls are concerned, it is going to form the government in Delhi after defeating the BJP and its allies across the country. We have formed government in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka. Eventually, we will unseat them in Delhi too.
