The current state of affairs at Jaipur Discom has been negatively impacted by the inactivity of officers due to inadequate monitoring. The processing time for both domestic and agricultural connections has increased, with domestic connections taking up to six months to be completed. In addition, rural areas are experiencing more problems. Unfortunately, the officers, ranging from JEN to SE and the Chief Engineer, have not been able to sufficiently address the issues faced by the public.
MD RN Kumawat has repeatedly instructed officers to answer phone calls immediately, but he himself does not answer his phone. Even after the implementation of the code of conduct, most officers of Jaipur Discom are not paying attention to the complaints and problems of the public. It’s worth noting that in the past, MDs R.J. Gupta, AK Gupta, and Ajit Saxena used to hold regular meetings with officers. During these meetings, they provided specific guidance to the officers on how to issue connections. As a result, both urban and rural areas were able to receive domestic connections within just a few days. During this time, officers also created a platform to address any complaints that arose.
MD will be removed immediately when the BJP comes to power: Ramlal Sharma
MLA Ramlal Sharma from Chomu said that several complaints have been received against MD RN Kumawat. He is troubling consumers. He said that he had also raised the issue in the assembly against RN Kumawat, where officers of the electricity department had filled the wrong VCR, and after that, the consumer went to complain, but his hearing was not done. Sharma added, “In this case, when the Bharatiya Janata Party comes to power, officers who do not work for the public will be removed immediately. RN Kumawat’s name will be the first in this.”
Connection not issued even in six months
The case pertains to Alwar Circle, which comes under Jaipur Discom. Even after six months, no domestic connections are being issued in the region.
SE Jawahar Lal Meena has stated that domestic connections have not been issued for about three months in rural areas of Alwar. However, these connections should be issued within one month.
He also said that there was a problem due to the non-availability of material for the connection. It is also said that high officials are sent demands from time to time.
Although there are delays in connections in Bharatpur Circle as well. But, in the Alwar circle, the most problems are being seen. Meanwhile, when an attempt was made to talk to MD RN Kumawat in this matter, he did not pick up the phone. While the government has also banned picking up the phone for all officers of Discom.
