China has been reporting a rise in respiratory illnesses amongst children in the last few days. Amidst the unprecedented rise in the cases in China, India has been preparing to build up a guard to prevent any situation.
There are as many as six states in the country which have put hospitals on alert. All preparations are being made in case the respiratory disease and the virus emanating from China ends up penetrating into India.
India now has viral disease at this point of time limited to children in the form of pneumonia influenza and other related respiratory diseases. There have been symptoms that have been put out by the Chinese authorities and there are no stones left unturned to ensure that there are proactive measures that are taking place.
Saurabh Bhardwaj, Minister of Health of Delhi said that there are specific precautions that are being taken by the Delhi government to ensure that if the virus penetrates into Delhi, it will be brought under control without affecting a large percentage of the population of children in the state.
Saurabh also informed that India is taking proactive measures to avoid repeating the mistakes of Covid-19 pandemic. At least six states in India are on alert mode. This comes after Centre’s directive to review readiness in view of the surge abroad. Rajasthan, Karnataka, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Haryana and Tamil Nadu have reportedly asked hospitals and healthcare staff to ensure preparedness to tackle patients complaining of respiratory issues.
Measures are being taken to enhance preparedness in the light of increase in cases being observed in foreign countries in response to the rising. Health Ministry of India has assured that the government is closely monitoring the situation, reflecting the nation’s commitment to stay vigilant in safeguarding public health.
The Centre on November 24 stated that India is prepared for any kind of exigency that may emerge from the current influenza situation in China and it is monitoring the outbreak of H9N2 and clusters of respiratory illness in children in that country.
