AAP criticizes Haryana CM’s education promises

The National Convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, has criticized Chief Minister Khattar’s statement regarding providing free college education to daughters of families with an annual income up to 1 lakh 80 thousand. He stated that education should be free for everyone, completely free, and of good quality. Every child born in this country has the right to good and free education.

Simultaneously, the State President and Rajya Sabha MP, Dr. Sushil Gupta, mentioned that Chief Minister Khattar is apprehensive about the growing popularity of AAP and Arvind Kejriwal. Observing the education revolution in Delhi, the people of Haryana are also demanding schools similar to those in Delhi and advocating for free education.

Chief Minister Khattar has failed to address education issues in Haryana during his nine years in office, and he is now making sudden election promises on education. It is evident that, faced with the prospect of defeat in the upcoming election, he is now remembering the importance of education.

Gupta said that Khattar has been sitting on the CM’s chair for the last 9 years. Then why did they not take any steps to improve the education system? CM Khattar is talking about providing free education, while basic facilities in Haryana government schools are lacking and their condition is poor. Drinking water facilities are not available in 131 government schools of the state. Electricity connections are absent in 236 schools.

538 schools lack separate toilets for girls, and 1047 schools do not have boys’ toilets. Additionally, there is a need for 8240 classrooms for students, and more than 30,000 teacher positions remain vacant. Senior Vice President Anurag Dhanda criticized the Chief Minister’s announcement of free education for daughters from families with an annual income of up to 1 lakh 80 thousand. Dhanda emphasized that free education is a universal right and should not be limited.

Education should be entirely free and of high quality for everyone. Every child born in this country has the right to receive a good education.

Dhanda highlighted that under the Aam Aadmi Party government, everyone receives free education and health facilities. He questioned how children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds could progress and noted that the people of the state had given the Congress 25 years and the BJP 9 years.
