Rajasthan Cong bigwigs face voting decline in key seats

In the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly elections this time, there was tough competition among national parties. Congress fought the elections on the strength of its plans, but the voting percentage on the assembly seats of 10 ministers out of 26 in Congress has decreased. Even the Chief Minister’s seat has seen a decrease in voting percentage by -0.54% compared to 2018, despite the hard work of the Chief Minister.
Leaders with negative voting percentages in their seats

Even the stalwart leaders of Rajasthan are behind in voting numbers this time. The voting percentage in their assembly constituencies has decreased this time. The decrease in votes on the seats of three-fourth ministers may act against Congress. The highest voting percentage has decreased in seats like Dausa, Bansur, Kaman, Sikrai, Alwar Rural, Sardarpura, Bharatpur, Koliyat, Kotputli, and Banswara. On these seats, voters seem less interested in voting for Congress party leaders, including stalwarts of other parties.
Questions arise from low voting in ministers’ areas

The direct question arises from the low voting in the ministers’ areas whether people do not trust Congress’s guarantees. However, an accurate estimate of the main result can not be made only from the seats of ministers. The hard work of Congress leaders seems to be failing in their own areas. It will be crucial to talk about the seats of Congress leaders this time. Even in Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s Sardarpura seat, there is a decrease of 0.54% in voting this time. This is a traditional seat for Congress. In the 2018 assembly elections, there was 66.22% EVM voting on the Sardarpura seat, which has decreased to 65.68% this time. Meanwhile, on the Laxmangarh seat of Sikar district, there is an increase of 2.08% voting this time. Congress candidate Govind Singh Dotasara is contesting from this seat. The voting on the Nathdwara seat of Assembly Speaker and Congress leader C.P. Joshi has increased by 2.81%. On this seat, there is a field of former member of the Mewar royal family Vishwaraj Singh from BJP.

Votes decreased in areas of big leaders:
Education Minister B.D. Kalla is in the election field from the Bikaner East Assembly constituency. Voting has decreased by 0.49% in Bikaner East compared to the last time. Women and Child Development Minister Mamta Bhupesh is in the election field from the Sikarai Assembly seat in Dausa district.

There has been a decrease of 1.45% in voting in Sikarai. Social Welfare Minister Tikaram Jully is in the election field from the Alwar Rural Assembly seat. Voting on their seat has also not shown a better percentage.

prachiNot only this, even on the Jhalrapatan seat of former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje from BJP, there is a 0.26% decrease in voting compared to last time. Industry Minister Shakuntala Rawat is in the election field from the Bansur Assembly seat in the Alwar district. The voting percentage has decreased considerably in this seat as well. Here, voting has remained at 71.24% from 75.35, i.e., a decrease of 4.11% in voting has been recorded.
